DyeStat Discussions - EP507 - Ahmed Muhumed
Published by
Florida State graduate student Ahmed Muhumed joins DyeStat editor Doug Binder two days out from the NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Fla. to talk about his journey through life and running in the United States since emigrating from East Africa 10 years ago. Muhumed will compete in his fifth NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday after three appearances as an undergrad at Boise State and one last March for Florida State. Muhumed also describes his summer trip back to Kebri Beyah -- a Somali village located within the borders of Ethiopia -- that he took with six other collegiate runners. Five of the seven runners on that trip are scheduled to compete at the NCAA Championships on Saturday. Muhumed also discusses his roommate and training partner, Adriaan Wildschutt, the March 2021 NCAA Cross Country runner-up and how they attempt to maintain high standards in everything they do.
